AppleScript
Version 3.1
- Updated 15 December 2001

XPress|Scripts 3.0
is a collection of thirty AppleScripts for QuarkXPress. Version 3.0 contains many new scripts and updates some of the scripts from version 2.0 (of 1995) to them bring up to date with QuarkXPress 4.11. This version now uses the Dialog Director osax instead of the old Dialog Runner osax which is no longer compatible today.

Here is a partial listing of XPress|Scripts 3.0:
XS ImageTag ImageTag places non-printing tags over each image in your document as an aid to image identification.

XS FontBook Creates a library of font samples using QuarkXPress. Offers two layout options: a basic six fonts per page or one font per page showing fonts in sample texts in different sizes.
XS Slice Slices up a selected box or boxes on the page into multiple boxes while retaining the original boxes properties. As a bonus, if the box contains an image, that image is sliced up along with the box. There are options to set the number of columns and rows, and gutter distance.

XS Matrix Lays out a grid of picture boxes or text boxes with the option of placing guides around the boxes. Options include the number of box columns and rows, gutter distance, and turning guides on and off.

XS Unlink Unlink all linked text boxes in a document, while retaining the text flow. This is useful if you need to copy and paste text boxes or copy whole pages to a new document.
XS Save as EPS's Choose all pages or a range of page numbers of a document and save those pages as EPS's.
XS Version ID A drag and drop applet which appends a suffix to a QuarkXPress document (without having to open it) indicating its version format, i.e. "Brochure.3", or "Calendar.4"
XS Multi Guides A script which allows entering values for a series of guides, horizontal and vertical. Also can accept input values such as 10+5 or 3*5.
XS TidyUp Tidyup takes a file where the owner was not aware of the existence of the measurements palette when creating the document. So, TidyUp rounds up haphazard measurement values such as 23.789 mm to 24.0 mm.
